Position Overview

PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced Helicopter Structures/Sheetmetal Mechanic to perform detailed installations, modifications, and repairs on helicopter airframes and components. This role supports aircraft production and delivery schedules and requires strong technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and structural repair.

Key Responsibilities

Installations, Modifications & Repairs

Perform sheet metal installations, modifications, and repairs on helicopter airframes.
Install major and minor modifications following STC instructions.
Cut, join, and adjust sheet metal structures using engineering drawings and standard practices.
Prepare patterns and templates to ensure precise installations.
Ensure installations do not compromise aircraft structural integrity or system function.
Adjust and fit latches, windows, cowlings, and covers as required.
Install prototype parts and tight-tolerance components using engineering blueprints.
Apply sealant to installations in accordance with quality and performance standards.
Manufacture doublers and small parts as needed.
Create and use jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve repeatability and workflow for other technicians.

Technical Execution

Use standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, and test equipment.
Use Fiche Techniques, technical documentation, MES, and SAP.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, parts lists, and technical data.
Follow service bulletins, inspection reports, and approved procedures.
Document work performed in MES, SAP, and required paper records.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of aircraft sheet metal installation and/or repair experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, sketches, and diagrams.
Strong understanding of aircraft structural fabrication and repair practices.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Preferred Qualifications

Airframe or Powerplant (A&P) license or applicable trade school certification (not required but a plus).
