The Quality Inspector will support the IPV programs, providing all inspection needs to the program, and actively collaborating with subcontracted labor and the various Integrated Production Teams. This position is responsible for the inspection of IPV products following the Inspection Plan from the program Quality Engineer which will drive the following actions: creation and communicating non-conformances, perform daily review of work in progress, work with QE and Supervisor for inspection priorities and tasks, assist QE with review of all non-conforming material for accuracy and status. Inspects parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements using predetermined methods and in some cases may determine methods and sequences. Inspects for proper identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers. Visually inspects for obvious defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits. Verifies specifications using purchase orders, blueprints, drawing or inspection instructions, and checklists. Makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods. May improvise or adapt inspection and measuring devices as needed. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Maintains records of results. In addition, the assistance and support of audits of products and processes to ensure program compliance with command media, contract requirements, and industry standards. Also will drive continuous improvement through the active participation in Structured improvement activities (SIA), champion root cause and corrective action of defects to prevent recurrence and to collaborate with the preventive actions.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain security clearance.
• Detail-oriented and proficient at interpreting drawings, diagrams, parts lists, manuals, revision control, reference documents and work instructions.
• Proficient with common inspections tools and equipment
• Experienced with Quality best practices
• Proficient with Personal Computers, and familiarity with Outlook, Excel.
• Prior Inspection and/or Quality experience.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly.
Desired Skills:
• Prior inspection experience on military/aerospace hardware
• Experience with planning and conducting audits
• Experience with process improvement and Lean practices
• Familiarity with distribution/warehouse operations
• A team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to Interfaces effectively and diplomatically with Contractors, Customers and Management when resolving Quality issues.
• Working knowledge of SAP

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
