Boeing is seeking an Inspector Magnetic Particle & Penetrant A to join our Portland, OR Quality Assurance Team.

Inspectors in this position coordinate, lead, assign work, instruct and work with inspectors using magnetic particle and penetrant processes to accept or reject aerospace, assemblies, detail parts, and ground support based on results of test, specifications and/or drawings.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, lead, instruct and work with inspectors using magnetic particle and penetrant processes to accept or reject aerospace, assemblies, detail parts, and tooling based on results of test, specifications and/or drawings.​
  • Analyze area inspection requirements and perform planned operations.
  • Verify working documents (e.g., manufacturing order, applicable drawings, Boeing (BAC) specifications, nonconformance items) are complete, accurate and up to date.
  • Process non-conforming parts/assemblies with supporting documentation and identify with rejection number.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must pass eye examination for color perception and near vision.
  • 1+ years of experience with NDI Magnetic Particle Inspection and/or Penetrant Inspection.
  • Certified Level 2 in Magnetic Particle and/or Penetrant
  • 1+ years of experience working with hazardous materials.
  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years certified Level 2 Magnetic Particle and/or Penetrant inspection.
  • 3+ years experience in Lean manufacturing.
  • Experience with ISO 90001.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Shift:

This position is for 2nd shift.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options

Summary pay range: $30.00/hour - $46.58/hour
