Job Description:
Position Purpose

In a team-oriented environment, perform all inspection tasks across Initial Phase Manufacturing, Composites, and Final Phase to ensure aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and installations are built to type design data in a timely and efficient manner.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings and orders, route cards, inspection travelers, work instructions, technical specifications, QA procedures and instructions, and other related documents
  2. Conduct preliminary and progressive inspections of aircraft structure and systems; verify functional operation, perform final inspections, inspect for FOD, and verify paperwork accuracy
  3. Witness, verify, and document specified manufacturing process steps
  4. Perform conformity/first article inspections to ensure compliance with FAA-approved procedures
  5. Ensure proper use and storage of area tools and equipment
  6. Conduct work in a manner that enhances employee health and safety and product safety; participate in safety investigations, report workplace hazards immediately, make suggestions for control, and contribute to the local Safety program

Additional Functions:

  1. Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel
  2. Perform area inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications
  3. Participate in continuous improvement activities
  4. Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Must Haves:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year quality inspection experience OR 2 years GAC manufacturing experience required
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Completion of Formal Inspection Training Program - 90 days required
  • Working knowledge of shop mathematics, and CATIA or blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Competent in the use of basic shop tools and equipment

Preferred:

  • 2 years manufacturing experience or equivalent aerospace experience
  • Experience in composites and sheet metal inspection
Work Environment

Manufacturing floor environment supporting Initial Phase, Composites, and Final Phase operations. Exposure to noise, chemicals, and precision tooling. Strict adherence to FOD, OSHA, and QA procedures required. PPE must be worn.

Uniform Policy
  • Uniform Requirements: Purchase uniforms from designated supplier (CINTAS).
  • Interim Attire: Wear navy-blue shirt/t-shirt and blue work pants/shorts (no denim) prior to receiving uniforms.
  • Suggested Items:
  • 3 T-Shirts
  • 3 Flat front pants
  • 2 Face masks (in case the mask mandate returns)
  • Safety Shoes: Steel-toed shoes required for job duties.
