Job Title: A&P Mechanic – Gulfstream Aircraft
Job DescriptionThis role performs inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on Gulfstream corporate and business jets, ensuring all maintenance activities meet regulatory and safety standards. You will interpret technical data, document all work accurately, and collaborate closely with a team of mechanics and engineers to keep aircraft safe, reliable, and mission-ready.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on Gulfstream aircraft, with emphasis on corporate and business jets.
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance procedures comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and established safety standards.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and specifications to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Complete detailed documentation of all inspection findings, maintenance operations, and repair work in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Collaborate with mechanics, engineers, and other technical staff to diagnose and resolve complex aircraft issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, including FAR Part 43, and other applicable industry standards and best practices.
- Assist in the training and development of junior mechanics, apprentices, and interns by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability of aircraft operations and maintenance processes.
- Ensure continuous compliance with FAA regulations, internal quality standards, and safety practices during all maintenance activities.
- Support flight operations by providing timely, professional maintenance solutions to minimize downtime and ensure aircraft availability.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture focused on excellence, integrity, and high-quality workmanship.
- Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and aircraft test equipment safely and effectively while performing maintenance tasks.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in and around the aircraft and hangar.
Essential Skills- Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
- At least 5+ years of experience performing maintenance on corporate jets, with strong exposure to both airframe and powerplant systems.
- Hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, including troubleshooting, inspection, and heavy maintenance on corporate or business jets.
- Experience working on Gulfstream aircraft, preferably models such as G400 and G500.
- Strong understanding of airframe systems and powerplant systems and how they integrate within corporate jet platforms.
- Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex aircraft systems and components.
- Ability to interpret and apply information from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, including FAR Part 43 and other relevant FAA regulations.
- Proficiency in using aircraft maintenance tools, including hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and explain technical information clearly.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support flight operations.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and position heavy objects, work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to maintenance procedures and standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience working in a Gulfstream service center or similar maintenance facility is a strong plus.
- Experience primarily on Gulfstream models such as G400 and G500 is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, manuals, and specifications beyond standard maintenance documentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in both technical work and documentation.
- Ability and willingness to mentor junior technicians and interns, supporting their technical development.
- Strong teamwork mindset and ability to contribute positively to a collaborative, high-performing maintenance team.
- Willingness to participate in continuous learning, recurrent training, and skill development opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in a hangar setting.

Work Environment
This position is based in a hangar environment at Hooks Airport, working primarily on Gulfstream corporate and business jets. The role follows a day shift schedule and is offered as a direct hire, salaried position. You will work in and around aircraft, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment, and will at times work at heights, in confined spaces, and in changing weather conditions when aircraft are positioned on the ramp. The hangar environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, organization, and professional conduct.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
