Zephyr Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead Aircraft Technician to oversee and perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on general aviation aircraft. This role requires exceptional technical skill, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with general aviation airframes and powerplants, hold a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate, and possess an FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on general aviation aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.

Serve as the primary authority for returning aircraft to service, ensuring all work meets airworthiness standards.

Conduct and sign off annual, 100-hour, progressive, and special inspections.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems to identify and correct defects.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, logbooks, and regulatory documentation.

Mentor and oversee junior technicians, promoting skill development and adherence to safety protocols.

Coordinate with operations and parts departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.

Enforce compliance with FAA Part 43, Part 91, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes, quality control, and efficiency.
Qualifications:

Required: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.

Required: FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).

Minimum 5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 3 years focused on general aviation aircraft.

Proven experience conducting annual inspections and returning aircraft to service.

Strong knowledge of piston and turbine general aviation aircraft systems.

Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, service bulletins, and FAA regulations.

Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to lead and mentor a team of technicians effectively.

High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred:

Experience with avionics troubleshooting and repair.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an aircraft maintenance environment.

Familiarity with Part 145 Repair Station operations.
