Job Title: MRO Technician
Job Description
The MRO Technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains aircraft mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role focuses on troubleshooting issues, replacing defective components, and following established maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in aircraft systems and components.
- Repair power systems, motors, and other aircraft components according to established procedures.
- Replace defective parts using appropriate hand tools and power tools.
- Examine and inspect replacement aircraft parts to identify defects or nonconformities.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals and technical documentation to determine correct repair procedures.
- Follow maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) standards and best practices to ensure compliance and safety.
- Document work performed and communicate any issues or required follow-up actions to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, preferably in an MRO environment.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in aircraft components.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repair and replacement tasks.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow maintenance manuals and technical repair procedures.
- Strong attention to detail when examining and inspecting aircraft parts for defects.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and maintenance standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in MRO maintenance for aircraft or similar complex mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with power systems and motors used in aviation or industrial settings.
- Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills to work with technicians, engineers, and other team members.
Work Environment
This role is based in a hands-on maintenance and repair setting focused on aircraft components and systems. You will work with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and technical manuals while performing diagnostics, repairs, and inspections. The environment is detail-oriented and safety-focused, requiring adherence to established procedures and maintenance standards. Work may involve standing for extended periods, working around machinery and equipment, and coordinating with other technicians and technical staff to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sarasota, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
