Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Controller to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of aircraft. This role involves overseeing maintenance control for 10 to 12 aircraft, with the potential to reduce this number as our team grows. The Maintenance Controller will ensure compliance with FAA, Manufacturers, and Company regulations, policies, and requirements. The position offers a dynamic shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, alternating between 3 days on/3 days off and 4 days on/4 days off.

Responsibilities

• Ensure line maintenance performs aircraft maintenance within compliance of all FAA, Manufacturers, and Company regulations, policies, and requirements.
• Discuss all pilot reports and non-routine items with respective line station/line mechanics as each aircraft terminates.
• Monitor all work progress at the line stations, assuring systematic troubleshooting and timely correction of discrepancies, providing technical assistance as required.
• Coordinate the movement of required parts to the aircraft.
• Monitor discrepancies reported daily to identify chronic non-routine items.
• Approve and record all items that are deferred or carried over.
• Ensure all work request items and scheduled maintenance are in order for timely completion of each task.
• Monitor all check remaining times on a continuing basis.
• Make controlled work assignments to address pilot reports, deferred items, carried-over items, or chronic problems.
• Maintain daily log of all maintenance activities, including all discrepancies by aircraft registration numbers.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the Maintenance Program at the practical level and alert the Director of Maintenance.

The shift schedule allows for working only six months out of the year, providing ample work-life balance. Although initially a six-month contract, strong candidates may see buyout contracts around the 2 to 3-month mark, with potential earnings up to $92k.

Work Environment

This role is based in an office environment at a FAR Part 121 charter airline headquartered in Wilmington, Ohio. The company operates a worldwide fleet of Boeing 757 and 767 cargo and combi passenger aircraft, specializing in freight forwarding, government, and military contracts. Personnel will undergo a training period on a day shift schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the first 2-4 weeks, after which they will transition to 12-hour shifts. The schedule alternates between Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday for the front half of the week, and every other Wednesday and Thursday-Saturday for the back half of the week, with various shift times available.

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $44.00/hr.
