Maintenance Electrician "B"

Description:Performs a wide variety of service and repair of electrical equipment in an industrial/commercial campus setting, demonstrating a working knowledge of general electrical safety and theory. Works under the guidance of Leadership or a maintenance Electrician "A".
Works at heights. Services plant equipment and machinery, works on lighting systems of varying vintage, switchgear, and building control/automation systems.
Must be able to pass medicals required for Personal Protective Equipment needed to perform the job.
Meet physical requirements of the job including walking, standing, and lifting (35 pounds).
Must have a California Driver License.
Have an understanding of electrical theory, electrical code (NEC), electrical shop practices and electrical controls.
Must be able to read, understand, and interpret wiring and circuit prints and diagrams.
- Formal electrical training/schooling and/or an appropriate combination of education and/or field experience in a commercial/industrial campus setting.
- Experience using electrical tools (hand and power) including diagnostic tools such as ammeters, voltmeters, and ohmmeters.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
-Strong communication skills with an ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, electrical control systems, plant machinery and equipment, climate control systems, automation systems, process controls, and production machinery.
-NFPA 70E knowledge.
-Ability to service and maintain commercial and industrial lighting systems of varying vintage.
-General Journeyman Electrician certification.
