Location Profile:
Located in Ontario, CA, Summit Machine, LLC specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries. Complex components include nickel base, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steels with parts ranging in size from 2” OD – 120” OD.
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, level one maintenance techs perform basic duties such as draining fluids, changing belts, and performing miscellaneous general maintenance tasks on manual and/or CNC machines while demonstrating the ability to properly use basic mechanical hand tools, i.e. wrenches etc. and have evidence of strong mechanical aptitude. 1-3 YOE
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Operate forklifts
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines
• Use basic hand tools, handheld power tools, bench-mounted tools, etc.
• Maintain daily tool inspections
• Maintain area cleanliness/organization (6S)
• Perform work in Confined Spaces
• Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
• The ability to operate forklifts
• The ability to properly use basic hand tool (Wrenches, etc.), handheld power tool (Saws, Drills, etc.), bench mounted power tools (Grinders, Sanders, etc.)
• The ability to maintain daily tool inspections and keep work areas clean & organized (6S)
• The ability to perform work in Confined Spaces
• The ability to perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines
• The ability to interact and communicate with others
• Basic computer skills
• The ability to check and fill lubricators on air lines
Experience & Education
• HS diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• Maintenance Technician Certification is preferred
• Forklift OSHA Certification preferred
• 3+ years in a manufacturing or aerospace environment preferred
