The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia are looking for an experienced B2 (Avionics) Maintenance Instructor/Assessor to be embedded with the Oakey Apache Team based at Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD.
This is a hands‑on, instructional leadership role where your avionics trade experience, course development skills and training acumen will directly support Australian Army Aviation personnel.
In this role you will:
- Deliver AH‑64E B2 Aircraft Type and associated maintenance support training in both classroom and practical environments.
- Develop, review and update courseware, handouts and assessment instruments in line with policy and continuous improvement activities.
- Act as course manager when required.
- Design practical training activities and student‑centred learning approaches to consolidate trainee outcomes.
- Maintain and support training aids and simulators in the Apache training precinct.
- Support development and compliance of a DASR Part 147 aligned training capability.
- Provide student and stakeholder support across Army Aviation training requirements, mindful of ITAR/IP constraints.
To be considered for the role you will have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or willingness to attain as part of role.
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics).
- Demonstrated B2 (Avionics) rotary‑wing experience and holding a B2 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) or CASA equivalent.
- Experience delivering technical training in a Defence or similar regulated environment.
- Strong instructor/mentor/coach capabilities and proven courseware development skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Experience on ARH or other rotary‑wing platforms with avionics qualification and at least 10 years experience as a tradesperson, aviation supervisor or maintenance manager.
- Experience in multi‑trade team environments and strong interpersonal skills.
- CAMM2 user experience.
- Understanding of DASA Part 147 and Part 66 regulations.
