The Boeing Company is currently seeking Maintenance Utility Technicians to join the team in Seattle, WA area at one of the following locations: Renton, Kent, Auburn, Tukwila, or Puyallup.

Maintenance Utility persons perform and/or assist with minor repairs to factory buildings, grounds and office areas, including but not limited to plumbing, painting, carpentry, janitorial, mechanical and millwright work as required to complete assigned work. Perform work described in other maintenance classifications when incidental but necessary to the accomplishment of work assignment. Assist higher classified employees in various maintenance and construction functions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform and/or assist with minor repairs to factory buildings, grounds and office areas, including but not limited to painting, carpentry and moving furniture and or equipment

  • Perform work described in other maintenance classifications when incidental but necessary to the accomplishment of work assignment

  • Assist higher classified employees in various maintenance and construction functions to include Plumbing, Electricians, HVAC Mechanics and Millwrights

  • Shifts available: 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+months experience following oral/written instructions provided by the supervisor or Team Leader

  • 3+months experience utilizing various types of hand tools and/or hand-held power tools

  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds

  • 3+months experience utilizing math that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience operating computing equipment to access and input job tasks information (e.g., drawings, specifications and other online information systems)

  • Experience utilizing various types of floor-mounted power tools as required.

  • Experience utilizing various types of precision measuring tools and test equipment and interpret the results

  • Experience operating pendant controlled overhead cranes in a safe manner

  • Experience operating various types of material handling devices to lift heavy machinery in a safe manner

  • Experience operating PIT (Power Industrial Trucks), electric stackers, forklift, overhead cranes and scissor lifts and aerial lifts in a safe manner

  • Experience utilizing, handling and CMS (Chemical Management System) resource proper disposal of hazardous materials per government regulations and Boeing procedures

  • Experience showing the mechanical ability, manual dexterity, and hand/eye coordination required to perform rigging, hook-ups and crane moves, various projects, per drawings, sketches, and verbal or written instructions

  • Experience utilizing the correct lifting and rigging procedures such as the selection and inspection of the appropriate slings, cables or chains, to ensure proper handling and distribution of weight when using lifting devices or radio controlled, overhead/mobile cranes and floor-operated cranes in a safe manner

  • Experience in the selection, set-up and operation of the appropriate tool(s) for a given type of work

  • Experience and execution of safe working practices, emergency procedures and the identification of possible dangerous situations

Summary pay range: $ 18.00 – 40.43 an hour
