STS Technical Services is hiring a Managing Lead Helicopter A&P Mechanic to support a critical air medical operation in Meridian.
This is a leadership maintenance role supporting life-saving helicopter missions. If you are an experienced A&P Mechanic who values precision, accountability, and operational readiness, this position puts your skills where they matter most.
A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available for a limited time.
Position Overview
The Managing Lead Helicopter A&P Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the airworthiness of assigned helicopters while supporting and coordinating maintenance activities across the base. This role ensures all aircraft are mission-ready and maintained in full compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer requirements.
You will serve as a key technical resource, supporting daily maintenance operations, documenting work performed, and assisting with fleet readiness across multiple locations when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections and scheduled maintenance to ensure continued airworthiness
- Troubleshoot and repair helicopter airframe and powerplant systems
- Communicate aircraft status and maintenance findings to the Lead Mechanic
- Maintain parts inventory and requisition components as required
- Complete accurate aircraft logbook entries and maintenance documentation
- Update electronic maintenance systems including work packages, removals, and installations
- Maintain tooling and ensure calibration schedules are met
- Provide maintenance support at multiple bases as needed
- Travel as required to support operational needs
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a certified Aircraft Mechanic
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
Preferred Skills
- Sheet metal repair experience
- Avionics troubleshooting and repair experience
- Willingness and ability to travel, sometimes on short notice
- Availability to work night shifts when maintenance schedules require
Schedule and Location Requirements
- Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off
- Base Location: Meridian, Mississippi
- Must live within 60 miles or one hour of the assigned base
- Travel between bases is required
