This position is responsible for maintenance of ALF502, and APU engines (service, inspect, repair, overhaul, alter, test, operate). Essential Responsibilities:
• Install, adjust align, troubleshoot, and perform final functional and operational test on ALF502 and APU engine, their assemblies, and components such as gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic, electric, fuel, oil, and pneumatic systems.
• Clean, inspect, service and determine serviceability of engine and APU components and prepare for higher level inspections.
• Accomplish scheduled and unscheduled GVI’s, DVI’s inspections, including borescope and heavy check task cards.
• Perform line troubleshooting, repairs, functional checks, rigging, engine dynamic washes and aircraft ground handling.
• Execute engine service bulletins, AD’s, and other modification.
• Install, remove, test, evaluate and troubleshoot engines on run test stand, perform compressor washes and preservation.
• Remove, install and repair QEC kit assemblies and components.
• Authorized to sign off on work performed by others, clear safety of flight conditions and return the aircraft to service.
• Maintain the basic set of tools to do the job required.
• Document all work on the aircraft and ensure that the aircraft records are complete.

Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Travel to support tanker operations, such as specialized inspections and repairs at various tanker bases.
• Train other mechanics as needed.
• Ensure compliance with the CRS Safety Management System (SMS) program
• Ensure that work performed by the Repair Station is in compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, technical data and company policies.
• Provide technical guidance to coworkers as needed
• Maintain personal minimal tool inventory and accountability.
• Follow all company and shop safety policies and maintain professional working environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Knowledge of startup, operation, shutdown, and emergency procedures for the systems and the aircraft; symptoms of normal and abnormal operation; the interrelationships between operating systems; and activity safety procedures to prevent damage to equipment or injury to personnel.
• Skill in the use of standard and specialized tools and test equipment of the trade including fixtures, templates, scales, test stands and external power sources.
• Skill in reading and understanding data and settings from cockpit instruments and gauges.
• Skill in interpreting and applying written technical guidelines.
• Skill in the use of computers to research technical data.
• Ability to work respectfully in a team environment toward a common goal.
• Ability to think analytically and be a problem solver.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Understand and practice safety procedures to prevent personal injury or damage to equipment.

Required Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to the following would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities needed to qualify.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant License OR FAA Powerplant License (both are preferred).
• Five (5) years powerplant experience or combination of aviation and related industry experience.

• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Work assignments require moderate to strenuous effort. Workers must climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces.
• Frequently lift parts and equipment that weigh up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift and carry items that weigh about 50 pounds. Heavier weights may be lifted with mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers.
• Work is performed in hangar areas, outdoors, and in hazardous noise areas.
• Workers are exposed to extremes in heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Work in confined spaces and in awkward positions.
• Dirt, dust, grease, and aircraft fluids are common in the workplace.
