Job Description:

Airbus Robotics is looking for a qualified individual to fill an opening for Mechanical Assembler. The candidate will mechanically assemble and test automated assembly and control systems for industrial manufacturing applications. Our tools are used in the direct manufacture of large-scale aerospace structures. Hourly non-exempt position ranging $22-31/hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

Build, maintain, test and ship.

  • Build complex mechanical assemblies with or without written work instructions within established time frames and processes with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
  • Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process.
  • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain production equipment and tools.
  • Assist in packaging finished products and prepare them for shipment.

Quality Control

  • Execute the first article inspection for machined and non-machined parts.   i.e. when we receive parts from machine shops parts should be inspected against the drawing to ensure a smooth assembly (i.e. helicoils are installed, dimensions and tolerances meet spec.)
  • If quality proves to be an issue, details must be recorded and passed along to the appropriate people to be rectified.
  • Work with Engineering to ensure products are built to specification and with high quality.
  • Keep shop spaces clean and organized daily.

Documentation

  • Contribute to technical and quality reports or other documentation. This includes but is not limited to work instructions and QA sign-off sheets, for use by engineering staff, management, or customers.
  • Furthermore, the ideal candidate would have the following experience and skills:
  • 1-2 years of Mechanical Assembly/Manufacturing experience.
  • High school diploma
  • Knowledge of sensors, motors, springs, bearings and tolerances a plus.
  • Basic machine shop skills. 
  • Highly dependable and able to consistently work a Monday-Friday 40-hour work week.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
