Job Description SummaryThis position will support the F110/F101/F118/J85/TF34 family of engines as well as Next Generation Products. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components, Detailed Design Reviews associated with new engine lines, and hardware ownership.

Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for all products and assigned components.
  • Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborates with others to solve issues. Develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelors degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Familiarity with engineering software packages such as NX, ANSYS
  • Professional internship/co-op experience
  • Passion for advancing the future of flight
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
