Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support a sensor program production activities. The candidate will need to have familiarity with mechanical structure design and aerodynamics. Candidate will be responsible for creating updated structural components, Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), and mechanical parts associated with the sensor pod. The candidate will also support production hardware and work directly with Fire Control Factory and Ocala Manufacturing Engineers to quickly react and develop solutions when problems arise. The candidate will be responsible for packaging design updates and design documentation processing including Requirements/Concepts (RC) Design Assurance (DA) Reviews, Implementation (I) DA Reviews, Pre-Release (PR) DA Reviews, and fully released drawings. Candidate should have excellent communication skills as they will be interfacing with multiple cross functional team members in a dynamic environment.

The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hours drive from Cocoa Beach and the space coast to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
Candidate must have experience using CREO CAD modeling software.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and working in an inclusive, team environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of Model Based Design using CREO
Knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes is desired.
Engineer with conceptual and detail skills, knowledge of drawing standards and experience with detail, assembly, and installation type 2D drawings.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Familiarity with Additive manufacturing is a plus.
Casting/machining experience is preferred
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
