Morson Edge are recruiting for Aircraft Fitters to join a leading aerospace organisation based in Coningsby.
Pay: 23.38 per hour PAYE / 31.34 per hour Umbrella
Contract: 6-month initial (with potential for extension)
Location: RAF Coningsby
Schedule: 1 week days, 1 week nights – 4-day week, 37 hours per week
The Role
As an Aircraft Fitter, you will carry out a range of maintenance and diagnostic activities on fast jet aircraft and components in accordance with Part 145 standards. This includes ground handling, flight servicing, inspections, repairs, modifications, and fault rectification tasks within a busy and dynamic maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out and complete maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostic activities on aircraft and components.

Undertake component removals, replacements, repairs, and functional or system testing.

Ensure all Part 145 maintenance activities are accurately documented and recorded.

Maintain compliance with the Part 145 Exposition, company procedures, and safety standards.

Support process confirmations, audits, and continuous improvement activities.

Apply Human Factors and Error Management philosophies to all work.

Support compliance with company SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) procedures.

Perform operational functional checks and assist with fault analysis and system improvements.

Maintain personal task authorisations and logbook records for recency and competency.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Time-served apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent qualification.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance environment.

Strong understanding of scheduled servicing, depth maintenance documentation, and EVM techniques.

Familiarity with Part 145 processes, expositions, and quality procedures.

Knowledge of ESS/IMS systems and associated toolsets desirable.

Flexible, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team in a safety-critical environment.
