Mechanical Worker I

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of mechanical and basic electrical assembly tasks related to the fabrication and assembly of systems in accordance with common military, commercial, and aerospace specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assembles and disassembles complex electrical and mechanical systems.
Performs duties using pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
Performs basic electrical assembly/disassembly of parts/components/hardware, connectors, and wiring into cabinets, chassis, and console-type assemblies.
Performs basic mechanical assembly/disassembly/adjustment of parts/components/hardware in mechanical systems.
May perform informal, in-process checks on manufactured or processed items.
May assist other related job classifications when directed.

Knowledge and Skills:

Practical knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical assembly processes.
Ability to use pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, production planning, and other technical documents.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Requires bending, reaching, and lifting of objects within established guidelines.
Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required.
