The Sr. NDT Technician will be responsible for conducting and interpreting non-destructive tests on various aircraft components and structures using advanced NDT methods. This individual must hold a Level 3NDT certification. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of parts, while maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards. In addition, this position will provide support to the day-to-day NDT operations and drive NDT quality compliance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform and interpret non-destructive tests on aerospace components using a variety of NDT techniques. This includes the preparation of parts before or after testing in accordance with approved work instructions.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and ensure proper documentation of all findings, ensuring compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment andconduct tests in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
- Interpret and evaluate test results according to applicable standards, codes, and specifications, and make recommendations based on findings.
- Develop and write NDT procedures in alignment with company standards, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Conduct internal operational performance reviews to ensure quality and compliance of NDT operations.
- Review and analyze work orders, technical manuals, and blueprints to determine appropriate NDT methods and inspection criteria.
- Provide technical guidance and training to Level 1 and Level 2 NDT Inspectors, promoting skills development and quality performance.
- Maintain NDT equipment and conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
- Support the day-to-day NDT operations, troubleshooting issues, and assisting in workflow management to maintain efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and company safety, quality, and environmental policies.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective actions as needed.

- Inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.
- Determines test method and prepares fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection.
- Interprets nondestructive inspection test results and provides information about defects to the repair center.
- Analyzes wear metal content on engine lubricating oil and other fluids and recommends corrective action.
- Establishes radiation areas for radiographic operations.
- Computes and monitors personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitors personnel exposure data.
- Performs nondestructive inspection of structures, components, and systems.
- Detects flaws such as cracks, delaminations, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment.
- Determines metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors.
- Operates, maintains, and inspects nondestructive equipment.
- Performs operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools.
- Ensures lock-out and tag-out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment.
- Performs silver recovery functions. Handles and disposes of hazardous waste and materials.
- Completed initial Non-Destructive Inspection Training Course and maintains basic qualification.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must be trained and certified in accordance with NAS 410 - NAS Certification & Qualification of Nondestructive Test Personnel.
