Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing NDT inspections during the (Gate1) process as well as performing in-site inspections during disassembly and repair process. This position will require practical application of technical knowledge and excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills are needed for a team-oriented work environment. In this role you will work with the inspection department and will assist with advanced inspection and mechanic duties within your assigned cell. You will have the opportunity to support production process, root cause and corrective action implementation, continuous improvement initiatives, and assist in training within the specified work cells. 

Shift days/hours: 1st shift but will need to be available for all shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform NDT component inspections as required
  • Provide assistance with MES close-out and Gate 1 closure
  • Assist Cell Leader/Ops Tech in meeting production goals and objectives
  • Provide inspection procedures training to other inspectors/mechanics
  • Review work scopes and work scope revisions for compliance to customer and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Environment Health & Safety and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with engine overhaul and repair in one or more of the following disciplines: NDT Level 1 Certification, Fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), Inspection, Disassembly or Assembly
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Additional Information:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Pratt & Whitney Columbus is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
