Job Summary

*** Shift Time: Friday - Sunday 6:00 am - 6:00 pm ***

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the optimal functioning of our manufacturing and facilities equipment through regular and systematic maintenance procedures. The Preventive Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in preventing unexpected downtime and maintaining the high-quality standards of our production processes.
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Exemplifying a safety-first mindset, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations ensuring compliance to the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
•    Conduct Routine Inspections: Perform regular inspections and assessments of the manufacturing and facilities equipment, and related systems to identify signs of wear and potential issues.
•    Scheduled Maintenance: Develop, implement and perform a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and parts replacement as necessary.
•    Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
•    Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including the details of inspections, repairs, and parts replaced, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
•    Parts Management: Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure availability when needed.
•    Training: Collaborate with operators and other team members to provide training on equipment operation and basic maintenance to minimize the risk of issues due to user error.
•    Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased equipment efficiency and propose recommendations to the management team.
 

Job Requirements:
Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
•    High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
•    Proven experience as a Preventive Maintenance Technician, particularly in a CNC machining and metal manufacturing environment.
•    Strong understanding of CNC machines, metal fabrication equipment, and their components.
•    Proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
•    Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
•    Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
•    Commitment to safety and compliance with all relevant regulations.
•    Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
 
Preferred Qualifications:
•    Professional qualification or certification in an Engineering discipline. 
•    Experience working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System
•    Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company
•    Manufacturing and facilities equipment experience in the Aerospace industry
•    A passion for the Aerospace industry
 

Compensation Range

The hourly compensation range for this position is: $28.41 - $42.62
