Product Repair/Modification Technician B (Structures)
Job Description:

Work Schedule: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Position Overview:

Our MRO Jacksonville facility is seeking skilled Aviation Maintenance Technicians to support maintenance, repair, and modification of military aircraft and components. This role directly contributes to warfighter readiness and global security by ensuring the highest quality maintenance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural repairs and modifications on F/A-18 EF flight controls, strike fighters, and commercial derivative aircraft.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and process documentation.
  • Identify and work with various fasteners (rivets, blind rivets, hi-locks, bolts, lock bolts, etc.).
  • Conduct precision drilling and measurement to tight tolerances (within .001 to .003 inches).
  • Perform cleaning, corrosion prevention, polishing, sealing, and application of aircraft finishes (primer, paint, Alodine).
  • Fabricate, trim, drill, ream, and assemble metallic and composite components per blueprints.
  • Utilize assembly jigs, repair equipment, and fixed tooling to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Complete technical documentation, logbooks, and maintenance work packages accurately and on time.
  • Follow all safety protocols, lifting standards (max 35 lb solo / 45 lb team lift), and company quality procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic (commercial, defense, or relevant apprenticeship).
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to drill and measure within .003 inch tolerance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience performing structural repairs on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Familiarity with fastener identification, safety wiring, cotter pin installation, and precision measurement tools (micrometer, dial caliper, depth gauge, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to first-time quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Education / Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Typically 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
