- Candidate must have eight (8) years’ structural and airframe experience in aircraft structures and or manufacturing background.
- FAA A&P certification and relevant civilian aircraft experience may be substituted.
- Ability to perform any level of rework with little or no supervision, and the ability to train others on re-work methods.
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in precision measuring devices. i.e., micrometer, ball gauges, dial calipers, scales, and all other calibrated devices.
- Ability to drill, ream, and prepare close tolerance fastener holes up to within ten-thousandths of an inch tolerance for subsequent fastening.
- Extensive knowledge in and experience in aviation hardware installation practices to include but not limited to (rivets, hiloks, jo-bolts, screws, washers, nuts, etc.).
- Comprehensive background in aviation airframes and structural inspections.
- Must be able to utilize blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturers’ drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties.
- Required to demonstrate basic sheet metal functions to include but not limited to drilling, close tolerance hole reaming, riveting, installing hi-locks, huck-bolt, and cherry max fasteners, making and installing panels, skin patches, and installing chin bubbles.
- Mandatory to read and write, interpret, and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, directives, guides, and forms used on the job.
- Demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, and component parts.
- Ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately as required by job assignment.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite (word, excel, PowerPoint) with working knowledge and ability to use CAD and Step Files.
- Secret Clearance is required for this position.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, and squatting, including working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line.
- Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
- If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
- If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
- If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
- Travel may be required.
