Job Description:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee and elevate our audit and compliance programs. This leadership role ensures alignment with FAA regulations and customer requirements while providing strategic direction, regulatory interface, and continuous improvement across the quality organization.

  • Lead, supervise, coach, and evaluate the performance of the Quality Assurance Auditor team.
  • Assign audit responsibilities, manage workload distribution, and ensure effective coverage of all audit requirements.
  • Develop and maintain auditor qualification, training, and competency programs.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, execution, and effectiveness of internal, external, vendor, surveillance, WIP, and VOS audits.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements, including FAA regulations and, as applicable, EASA, TCCA, CASE 1A, ISO9001, AS9100/AS9110, and the Ascent RSM/QCM.
  • Serve as a primary management interface with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and customer audit representatives, in coordination with the Director of Quality as applicable.
  • Review, approve, and ensure timely completion of audit reports, findings, CARs, and CAPAs.
  • Provide oversight and governance of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and Comprehensive Corrective Actions (CCA).
  • Ensure corrective actions effectively mitigate risk and demonstrate sustained effectiveness.
  • Monitor audit trends, systemic issues, and quality performance metrics; communicate results to leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational quality and safety objectives.
  • Maintain oversight of audit tracking, CAR/CAPA systems, and quality performance metrics.
  • Ensure supplier and subcontractor compliance through quality surveys, on-site audits, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure quality processes remain current with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Safety, and Training departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Support investigations related to quality escapes, audit findings, and damage to company or customer assets.
  • Provide oversight or support, as assigned, for fuel storage and into-plane audit programs
  • Support and participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities and safety initiatives.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive quality experience.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • ASQ certifications (CQA, CMQ/OE, Quality System Lead Auditor) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing ISO9001, AS9100/AS9110, and/or CASE quality management systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable portions of 14 CFR Parts 21, 43, 65, 121, 125, 129, 135, and 145 as they relate to repair station operations and quality oversight.
  • A&P Certificate preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 20 pounds.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

  • Telephone, personal computer, multiple printers, copy machine, and shredder.
  • May be required to operate additional office equipment not explicitly listed in this description as needed to perform job duties effectively.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work primarily in the Main Hangar building office with occasional travel to various locations on base.
  • Potential exposure to materials listed on Material Safety Data Sheets.
