The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting all stages of aircraft inspection—including incoming, in-process, and final checks—to ensure regulatory compliance and airworthiness for aircraft operated under the airline’s certificate.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance Oversight
- Support the Director of Quality and Chief Inspector in enforcing all Quality Control standards contained in the company’s General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
- Assist in implementing inspection-related procedures and policies defined within the GMM.
- Verify that all maintenance is performed in accordance with the air carrier’s approved manuals and that Required Inspection Items (RII) are properly identified, inspected, and documented.
Maintenance Documentation & Technical Data
- Confirm all technicians are using the latest OEM manuals, technical publications, and proper maintenance forms.
- Ensure precision tools and test equipment meet the required calibration standards and conform to manufacturer specifications.
Parts, Materials & Component Control
- Validate that removed components are properly tagged with accurate disposition information to prevent the installation of unserviceable or rejected items.
- Monitor adherence to GMM procedures regarding the segregation and handling of parts.
- Verify only airworthy, approved components are installed during maintenance activities.
In-Process & Daily Inspections
- Conduct daily inspections on aircraft undergoing repairs, overhauls, or modifications, ensuring all work meets Part 43 requirements and GMM standards.
- Review work orders, tags, inspection sheets, and documentation for accuracy, progressive sign-offs, and proper recording of discrepancies and corrective actions.
Major Repairs & Alterations
- Identify tasks that qualify as major repairs or alterations.
- Coordinate with the Lead Mechanic and Quality leadership to secure and use FAA-approved data when required.
- Ensure these items are clearly designated on the work order.
Final Records Review & Return-to-Service
Perform a complete audit of maintenance records after work is completed, including:
- Confirming all required inspections—including RII—have been completed and properly documented.
- Verifying major repair/alteration work complies with FAA-approved data and preparing FAA Form 337 for Quality approval when applicable.
- Ensuring updates to weight and balance records are completed and inserted into the AFM when required.
- Reviewing Airworthiness Directive compliance statements for accuracy.
- Finalizing the work package with appropriate maintenance release or return-to-service statements.
Additional Duties
- Monitor shelf-life items to prevent expired materials from being used.
- Perform other QC-related tasks as assigned by the Chief Inspector or Director of Quality.

Minimum Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate.
- At least 18 months of airline Quality Control Inspector experience.
- At least 18 months of hands-on maintenance experience on comparable aircraft.
- Minimum 6 months of recent QC inspection experience.
- Proficiency with inspection tools, test equipment, and applicable maintenance aids.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience
Experience with turboprop aircraft such as:
- SA226/SA227
- DHC-6, DHC-8
- EMB-120
- ATR-42/72
- SAAB 340 / SAAB 2000
- DO-328
- King Air series
Pay/Schedule
- 4x10 schedule days/nights MUST BE OPEN TO BOTH
- Pay dependent on experience
