Quality Inspector - Mobile, AL
Job Description:

PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to support Repair Station operations in Mobile, AL. This position reports directly to the Chief Inspector/Head of Quality and is responsible for ensuring all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities meet regulatory, safety, and company standards.

Primary Responsibilities
Inspection & Compliance

  • Review incoming aircraft maintenance flight logs for required tasks.
  • Perform primary inspections on aircraft and components.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections prior to aircraft release.
  • Accept or reject completed work based on regulatory and procedural requirements.
  • Check for proper installation, safety, workmanship, material conformity, and fastener accuracy.
  • Conduct pressure checks when required.
  • Perform receiving inspections for incoming parts and materials.
  • Ensure all inspections comply with approved manuals, maintenance data, and FAA instructions.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Documentation & Records

  • Prepare required forms, work orders, and inspection documentation.
  • Ensure proper entries in aircraft maintenance flight logs.
  • Complete airworthiness releases as required.
  • Assist in developing and refining procedures and processes.

Operational Coordination

  • Monitor work in progress to ensure compliance and progress.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to manage workflow and resource scheduling.
  • Support tooling design for Component Shop and MRO operations.
Job Requirements:
  • FAA A&P License.
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance or quality control experience.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to make decisions with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply technical manuals and regulatory documentation.
  • Must understand, read, and write English fluently.
  • Ability to read and interpret precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, supervisors, and internal teams.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree (not required).
  • Experience with turboprop aircraft.
  • Prior Quality Control experience in an MRO or aviation environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Clear vision (20/20 with or without corrective lenses).
  • Ability to hear clearly (with or without hearing aids).
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Regular squatting, bending, standing, and reaching overhead.
  • Occasional climbing of ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in loud environments when required.
  • Regular attendance as outlined in company policy.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional domestic travel (up to 10%).
