We are seeking a qualified Aerospace Quality Inspector (Structures & Composites) to support aircraft structural and composite inspection activities in Kinston, NC. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with aerospace standards, strengthening quality assurance on the production line, and supporting continuous improvement within structural and composite manufacturing processes.
This position is non-certifying and does not include sign-off authority under Part 145.
Main responsibilities:
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of aircraft structures, composite parts, and sub-assemblies in accordance with approved engineering data and procedures.
- Inspect structural assemblies (metallic and composite), including installation, fastening, bonding, and integration operations.
- Monitor composite manufacturing processes such as lay-up, curing, trimming, and assembly to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Review manufacturing records, material certifications, and traceability documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Identify, document, and report non-conformities; initiate AM (Assembly Anomalies) and NC (Non-Conformities) reports.
- Issue quality disputes and coordinate with engineering and technical support teams for resolution.
- Conduct in-process inspections to detect and prevent defects early in production.
- Verify and validate deviations, concessions, and exceptions related to production and partner operations.
- Support customer visits, audits, and area presentations in coordination with production and quality teams.
- Perform final area inspections and close-out activities with a neutral and objective approach.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and methods teams to resolve quality issues efficiently.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring defects and contributing to root-cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, PPE requirements, and FOD prevention standards.
- Promote a strong quality culture across structural and composite operations.
