Job Description
The Quality Assurance Inspector – UH-60/S-70 conducts detailed inspections of UH-60 and related Sikorsky aircraft platforms to ensure all maintenance, repairs, and modifications meet applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role verifies the airworthiness of aircraft systems, subsystems, and avionics components, reviews documentation for accuracy and completeness, and supports troubleshooting activities to maintain high reliability and performance across the fleet.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of UH-60 aircraft systems, subsystems, and avionics components to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and quality standards.
- Perform component and shop inspections to verify that all work and parts meet required specifications and technical data.
- Review and approve incoming materials, repaired parts, and common use items to confirm conformity with applicable standards and documentation.
- Examine and validate inspection records, reports, and maintenance documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all aircraft parts and components are properly tagged, identified, and tracked in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor safety, training, and certification requirements within the maintenance environment and report any deficiencies or concerns.
- Assist maintenance teams in troubleshooting and inspecting aircraft systems to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Apply knowledge of airframe structures to read blueprints and verify structural repairs meet engineering and quality requirements.
- Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare, update, and maintain inspection reports, logs, and quality-related documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of quality assurance processes by identifying trends, recommending process enhancements, and promoting best practices.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of aviation maintenance experience, including at least 2 years serving as an Aircraft Quality or Technical Inspector.
- Hands-on experience on one or more of the following platforms: UH-60, MH-60, SH-60, HH-60, CH-53, or S-76.
- Strong knowledge and understanding in quality inspection for rotary-wing aircraft and associated systems.
- Avionics experience with the ability to inspect avionics systems and components for proper installation and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals to verify airframe structural repairs.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for reporting and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced maintenance and inspection environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspections and documentation.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License preferred and considered a strong asset.
- Willingness to pursue an A&P License if not already held, with support available after transitioning to a direct role.
- Experience with Sikorsky platforms such as UH-60, HH-60, SH-60, MH-60, CH-53, or S-76.
- Familiarity with aviation quality assurance processes, inspection criteria, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple inspections and documentation requirements simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced setting where meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards are essential, and you should be comfortable working under pressure around active maintenance operations and hangar equipment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Guntersville, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37.00 - $38.00/hr.
