Description:Follow standard inspection procedures, drawings, specifications, check sheets and other written or oral instructions to perform any final or major assembly inspection duties.

Check out aircraft for satisfactory completion of all controls for proper rigging, clearances, operation and safety: hydraulic systems for operational acceptability: lubrication and fuel gauging systems for functional performance: power plant, rotor head and transmission units for proper installation: physical installation of electrical and electronic systems for proper operation: installation of revised or altered assemblies: and completeness in detail of all related systems and components requiring final check out.

Independently perform comprehensive inspection of derivative model major assemblies and installations, including in process and final inspection of aircraft structures. Complete necessary paperwork for final clearance and release to pre-flight status.

As occasion requires, evaluate the conditions and requirements of aircraft returned for overhaul and repair.

Direct up to 2 lower grade inspectors as required.

Certification is required for the inspection and verification of Flight Safety Parts, all torque applications, and non-destructive inspection. Perform detail specification checks and other related duties as directed, which includes interfacing with the customer (both internal and external).

Refer only unusual conditions to Foreman.

Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety. As required, segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
Basic Qualifications:
- This position requires a well-rounded knowledge of aircraft inspection procedures, manufacturing functions, assembly and installation operations.

- Candidates must possess the ability to read and interpret complicated drawings, use precision measuring instruments, and follow engineering orders and instructions.

- Must be able to interpret military and commercial specifications according to inspection practices.

- Position requires a minimum of 2 years of high school experience and 2-3 years of trades training.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
