SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Extensive travel for periods of time within UK and Europe – supporting test campaigns and launch

LOCATION: Stevenage – Onsite 5 days a week – variable shifts dependent on assembly and test schedule

TYPE: Full time / STEM returner

Our guardians are themselves threatened by climate change. A new European Space Agency (ESA) satellite mission, currently being built by Airbus, is set to investigate exactly how our forests are faring. The name says it all: Biomass. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM 

To perform electrical / mechanical integration activities:

• Wiring activities, manufacture and integration of flight harness and test harness (crimping, soldering, looming, routing and repairs) to ESA standards - this role will involve working at heights and in confined spaces
• Test instrumentation integration (thermocouples, heater circuits and accelerometers)
• Perform basic electrical tests (continuity, bonding, insulation, DC high voltage...)
• Interpreting technical documentation (schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, 2D and 3D General Assembly Drawings, technical notes and integration procedures)
• 3D model navigation
• Support movement and lifting operations using overhead crane and other MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment).
• Carrying out assembly engineering – competent in the use of hand tools (torque tools,       screwdrivers, spanners, measurement tools and etc.).

ABOUT YOU

• Possess ESA, aerospace or space or other high quality wiring experience (flight and test harness manufacture, check out and installation)
• Be familiar with Harness securing methods               
• Hold a recognised apprentice qualification within an engineering discipline
• Understanding of continuous improvement processes
