Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to join the Production Equipment Maintenance Team in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for production equipment maintenance in assigned area.
  • Prepares and conducts training for maintenance technicians on maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of critical production assets.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to maintenance technicians in resolving production equipment issues.
  • Prepares and reviews training documents, custom equipment documents, tip sheets, etc.
  • Serves as primary technical interface for production equipment maintenance and partners with internal/external stakeholders (OEM, suppliers, production, engineering, etc)
  • Assist with acquiring, modifying, supporting and disposing of major custom equipment, multiple systems and subsystems assets.
  • Researches, interprets and applies codes, regulations and standards.
  • Creates project management plans and executes multiple projects to plan.
  • Initiates and performs continuous improvement activities, root cause analysis, rapid system problem solving.
  • Responds to non-routine maintenance/operator questions related to assets.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with CNC and automation systems maintenance, robotics systems, and various types of equipment controllers, such as Siemens 840D, Fanuc, and Allen Bradley
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and operating PLCs (preferably Siemens and Allen Bradley)
  • 5+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel at a minimum)
  • Experience training others and developing training material

Typical Education/Experience: 
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years related work experience, 8 years related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $80,750– 109,250
