We’re looking for a level II Sheet Metal Technician (structures). This position will be based out of our Oklahoma City, OK location.

Sheet Metal Technician II (Structures)

Works under minimal supervision performing structural modifications, fabrication and/or repair within the estimated timeline in accordance with approved documentation, aircraft structural repair manual and industry and/or military standards on aircraft airframe, appliances and parts.

Essential Job Functions:

•    Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensure parts/assembly meet requirements.

•    Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all tools required to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets). Must display the ability to remove fasteners without damaging structure.

•    Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type size and hole pattern for rivets

•    Check all work and ensure a defective free assembly prior to final inspection.

•    Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.

•    Make repairs per Modification Drawings, Engineering requests and applicable technical manuals.

•    Adheres to safety, compliance and regulatory policies and procedures.


Skills and Experience:

•    Two (2) years aircraft experience on airframe structural modification and fabrication

Education:

•    High School diploma/GED or equivalent

•    Two (2) years accredited schooling in structural aviation

•    Successfully complete the company’s SMTEC II examination


Physical Requirements: 

This position requires an initial physical exam upon a contingent offer of employment with a renewed physical exam required every five (5) years. The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Ability to work in tight, confined areas.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Additional Notes:

A negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required for this position and the incumbent for this position will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing
