Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic
Job Description
- The candidate will focus on panel removal and installation, as well as other structural needs related to GoGo and Starlink installations regionally. While primarily working in the back shop, the candidate may also engage hands-on with various airframes they are supporting. The role involves removing and installing antennas and handling minor rework tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Measure dimensions, contours, trim lines, angles, radii, and coordination of parts for conformance to blueprints and specifications using precision measuring equipment.
- Fabricate fixtures, brackets, housings, and related parts from sheet metal, stainless steel, and composites according to technical reference materials.
- Fabricate and assemble tubing components and cable assemblies following blueprints and specifications.
- Fabricate and install parts, assemblies, and antenna doublers in specified aircraft locations in pressurized and non-pressurized aircraft.
- Design parts to be fabricated or welded, including assembly sketches, hardware, and installation specifications in accordance with FAA specifications and regulations.
- Complete required paperwork for work orders and properly document all removal and installation of aircraft parts and accessories.
- Use appropriate corrosion control processes upon completion of parts and fixtures before installation in aircraft.
- Provide on-the-job training to less experienced technicians to ensure technical development and accurate work.
- Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interior, instrument panels, and avionics equipment bays prior to and/or following the installation of aircraft systems.
- Maintain current industry, equipment, and FAA knowledge by attending factory classes, on-the-job training, and by researching and reading technical documents.
- Be available to work all department alternate shifts as needed and accomplish road trips within the United States and other countries as needed.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of sheet metal experience, ideally on corporate aircraft.
- Experience with Hawker, Challenger, Falcon, Gulfstream aircraft preferred.
- Career military experience is a potential fit.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to travel 25-50 of the time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Outstanding troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to design and designate correct fasteners using fastener codes for each installation.
- Knowledge of FAA specifications and regulations.

Work Environment
- Candidates will have tasks assigned to them daily, working from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed. The role involves traveling to other regional stations to support additional projects and working fairly independently in back shops or hangers.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chesterfield, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
