Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Structures Mechanic with a strong experience in corporate or commercial aircraft sheet metal to support light and heavy structural modifications. The ideal candidate will be skilled in aircraft structural repair, fabrication, and modification in accordance with approved data and FAA regulations. This role supports both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in a fast-paced aviation environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform light and heavy structural modifications on corporate and/or commercial aircraft.
- Fabricate, install, and repair aircraft sheet metal components, including skins, frames, stringers, doublers, ribs, and structural assemblies.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, SRMs, AMMs, and work instructions.
- Perform structural repairs using approved FAA data (DER, OEM, or engineering dispositions).
- Lay out, form, cut, drill, deburr, and assemble sheet metal parts using proper tools and techniques.
- Install and remove structural components using rivets, fasteners, and bonding methods per specification.
- Operate sheet metal equipment such as shears, brakes, presses, drills, and forming tools.
- Conduct detailed inspections of completed work to ensure quality and airworthiness compliance.
- Accurately document all maintenance and modification work in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to complete modification projects on schedule.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3+ years of aircraft sheet metal/structures experience in a corporate or commercial aviation environment.
- Hands-on experience performing structural repairs and heavy modifications.
- Proficiency in aluminum and aircraft-grade materials.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations and approved maintenance data.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
- Experience using precision measuring tools and sheet metal fabrication equipment.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Own tools.
- Must be open to OT.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a Part 145 Repair Station.
- Experience on business jets or commercial aircraft platforms.

Work Environment
Work in a hangar setting with shifts available from Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday. Long-term plans include 2-3 shifts, providing flexibility in scheduling.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $57.00/hr.
