PDS Tech Commercial is seeking skilled Sheet Metal Technicians to join a leading aviation partner in Indianapolis, Indiana. Position: Sheet Metal Technician
Type: Full-Time, Contract
Schedule: 07:30 AM – 04:00 PM
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay Rate: $35.00– $45.00/hr
Role OverviewAs a Sheet Metal Technician, you’ll transform raw materials into precise, high-quality components that support aircraft performance and safety. Your work will involve fabricating, bending, forming, and assembling sheet metal parts while following strict aviation standards and blueprints.
Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesReview project requirements, blueprints, and instructions to determine methods, materials, and assembly sequences
Lay out, alter, and assemble sheet metal parts using hand tools and fabrication machines
Bend, form, drill, deburr, countersink, dimple, and rivet sheet metal components
Operate soldering and welding equipment to join parts as needed
Install solid and blind rivets, fasteners, and other sheet metal hardware
Guide and instruct 1–2 lower-level helpers, performing supervisory tasks 50 of the time
Inspect assemblies for quality, smooth seams, and remove burrs
Perform other related duties as required
Required & Preferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience
Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge, if applicable
Skilled in reading and applying aircraft structure repair manuals and FAA AC 43.13-1B
Proficient in identifying and removing corrosion, applying wash etch and Alodine materials, and primer application
Knowledge of rivets, bolts, screws, nuts, and washers
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay Details: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
