This technician role is responsible for, inspecting, repairing, modifying, and updating aircraft structures including primary, secondary, and tertiary structures, frames, skins, flight controls, cowlings, doors, antenna mounts, doublers, special mission structures, etc.

Job Requirements:
  • Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs aircraft sheet metal parts.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.
  • Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form.
  • Trims, files, grinds, de-burrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces.
  • Comply with 14 CFR (as applicable), manufacturer & 39; s specifications, 145 repair station policies, company policies, and procedures, as well as other methods accepted by the FAA, when accomplishing maintenance.
  • Conduct on-the-job training as assigned.
  • Maintain the maintenance work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Work with or without established blueprints to fabricate, drill, dimple, file, grind, trim, countersink and install aircraft structural assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • A wide variety of duties are performed such as dismantling, repairing, fabricating, assembling, inspecting and erecting all parts of an aircraft.
  • Use of hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, re-assemble, complex structures and systems.
  • May work with composites if interested.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience manufacturing simple to complex mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as drill presses, rivet and hardware presses.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of sheet metal tooling, equipment, materials (i.e. different rivets and metals) and processes strongly preferred.
  • Must own basic set of aircraft maintenance tools.
  • Must take instruction and guidance well.
  • Must be goal oriented, have an exceptional attention to detail, and must work well in team situations and also as an individual.
  • Enthusiasm to learn.
  • A drive for process improvement and learning our aircraft and systems.
  • High energy level.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work at both a fast pace and high quality level

  • Must be able to pass background check as well as pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests

Physical Abilities:

This position requires you to perform a variety of physical activities such as:

  • Accessing elevated areas of aircraft for maintenance and servicing which may require the use of ladders, high lift trucks, boom lifts and other lifting devices
  • Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting, working overhead, extensive walking, working in tight/confined spaces and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Handling hazardous material in performance of assigned duties
  • Be able to use Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., respirators, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.)

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • A&P certificate (Preferred but required)
