Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheetmetal Technician to join our team. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and fabricating aircraft structures, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Inspect aircraft structures, including the fuselage, wings, and empennages, for damage such as cracks, corrosion, dents, or popped rivets.
- Remove damaged sections and perform complex structural repairs, modifications, and installations using techniques like riveting, patching, welding, and bonding.
- Plan, lay out, cut, bend, and shape metal sheets (aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, etc.) to fabricate new or replacement parts according to engineering drawings or original parts.
- Assemble and install structural components and sub-assemblies, ensuring precise alignment and securing them with appropriate fasteners like rivets, screws, and bolts.
- Accurately complete all maintenance records and forms, ensuring all work adheres to manufacturers specifications, company policies, and regulatory standards (e.g., FAA regulations, ADs, Service Bulletins).
- Proficiently use a variety of hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and machinery such as shears, brakes, presses, and drills.
- Work effectively with engineers, quality inspectors, and other mechanics, and adhere strictly to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training or a certificate program in aviation maintenance or metalworking often preferred.
- Relevant experience in aircraft sheet metal structural assembly and repair, typically a minimum of 2-5 years depending on the role level.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals (SRMs, AMMs, etc.).
- An FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is often preferred or required for career advancement, but not always a baseline requirement for all sheet metal roles.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, manual dexterity, the ability to work in a team, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety are essential.
- Must be physically capable of working in cramped or confined spaces, at heights, and be able to lift items up to 40-50 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with avionics, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of components from manufacturers such as Garmin and Honeywell.
- Familiarity with aircraft types such as Citation, King Air, and PC-12.

Work Environment
Candidates will be working in the hangar from Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
