Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is currently seeking to a hire a Shipping/Receiving Inspector.
The required responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:
-To perform receiving/shipping inspections used primarily
for identification, condition, type, packaging, quantity, etc.
and limited dimensional and testing where specified.
-Perform a variety of inspection/audit operations of
materials, equipment, and hardware ranging from raw
stock and detail components to completed assemblies being received from suppliers or shipped from the
company.
-Perform inspection and verification in accordance with Inspection Instructions, Request for Shipment (RFS), drawings, specifications, Quality Procedures or other Customer or Company documents, as applicable.
-Route items requiring specialized inspections and tests to
designated areas and verify completion and acceptance is
achieved.
-Perform general and periodic surveillance inspection
requirements of warehousing, shipping, and associated storage areas.
-Suggest improvements inspection methods, equipment, safety, and environmental practices.
-Maintain effective liaison with Materials, Shipping,
Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer, and other departments to achieve product schedules within budget targets.
-Handle, utilize, maintain and store inspection equipment in a manner to prevent damage, abuse, or neglect and to maintain its serviceability.
In addition, the selected candidate will also be required to:
-Occasionally operate all lifting and loading equipment.
-Originate and maintain required records and logs.
This role will require basic knowledge of material handling methods and receiving practices and procedures together with the use of arithmetic to receive a variety of items.
It will also require the use of complicated drawings, specifications, and shop mathematics.
-Employee may be required to handle explosives and hazardous materials.
-Some knowledge of inspection procedures and methods required to inspect a variety of parts.
Basic Qualifications:
-Basic knowledge of material handling methods and
receiving practices and procedures together with the use of arithmetic to receive a variety of items.
-Ability to utilize arithmetic involving decimals and fractions and its application to the reading of blueprints.
-Knowledge of inspection procedures and methods required to inspect a variety of parts.
-High school degree or equivalent is required.
-Must have ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
-Must have the ability to work 1st or 2nd shift according to the collective bargaining agreement.
-Must have the ability to work overtime as required.
Desired Skills:
-Knowledge of the DD25O and RFS procedures.
-Demonstrate the ability to perform general and periodic
surveillance inspections of warehousing, shipping, and
associated storage areas.
-Ability to use a fork lift.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
