Minimum Education
- Must have a High School diploma or GED.
- Preferred to have completed a civilian or military Electronics Principles course.
- An Associate’s Degree in an electronics field or completion of VoTech Simulator Maintenance Programs is highly desirable; or BSEE or BSME degree is highly desired.
Minimum Experience
- Must have completed TRAINING as fully qualified SIM TECH I; OR Three to five years’ experience as a Flight Simulator Technician or equivalent is desired.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex non-routine problems.
- Experience should include component level test and repair of microprocessor-controlled equipment.

- Display ability to repair, overhaul, rebuild, align, and adjust complete multi-systems.
- Demonstrate and apply comprehensive knowledge of all major units of the complete multi-system to achieve operating specifications.
- Successfully determine proper sequence of operations and start point for sequential operations, in order, to pinpoint areas of malfunction.
- Possess and maintain extensive practical knowledge of the theories and practices of electronic circuits, computer theory, hydraulic or pneumatic control and power systems, and many other areas covering a wide range of system applications.
- Possess a basic knowledge of mathematics, including trigonometry, to calculate power relationships, signal phasing, etc.
- Display ability to interpret drawings for multi-system complexes.
- Identify and isolate malfunctions of complete multiple integrated systems and determine the methods of repair.
- Currently possess, or demonstrate the ability to obtain, a SECRET clearance.
- CompTIA A+ Certification preferred or ability to gain the certification within 1 year of employee hire date.
