The P8 Training Services Based at RAF Lossiemouth, provides P8 synthetic training to our MOD customer through the utilisation of state of the art simulation and training systems.
P8 Training Engineering supports the continuity of the training delivery through pro-active maintenance and management of the training devices and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with repairs and tests, installs, configures, upgrades and assists in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software
- Performs general inspections for pre-operations, post-operations and component handling of training devices, assemblies and components
- Conducts functional tests of training device systems and monitors device instrumentation and bench mounted indicators
- Troubleshooting systems, support equipment to isolate faults and repair faulty components
- Works under limited supervision
- Develop and enhance existing processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement within the P8 Device Maintenance Department.
Perform extra duties to support the maintenance team as tasked by Shift lead or Engineering Manager.
Basic Qualifications (Required skills/Experience):
- Excellent organization and computing skills.
- Good level of experience with electronic/electrical systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft office applications.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience on flight simulators and training equipment.
- Time served indentured apprenticeship (Simulator/Avionics/Electronics/Engineering)
- NVQ level 3 Electrical/Electronics/Avionics
- Knowledge of computer networking
- Experience with qualification test guide running and grading (QTGs).
- Knowledge of the Military Air Environment and associated governance.
- HNC or higher Electronics/Avionics/Aircraft Engineering
This position will be based onsite at RAF Lossiemouth, full time and will operate on a shift pattern.
