The Site Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Leader is responsible for ensuring the functionality, efficiency, and safety of the site’s facilities and equipment. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement processes that align with business objectives, manage complex issues within their area of expertise, and contribute to long-term planning and overall business strategy. The leader must be capable of collaborating with cross functional teams and department leaders to address issues that affect quality, efficiency, ergonomics, facilities, and equipment maintenance. - Responsible for the overall maintenance and readiness of the equipment and facility
- Supervise the development and implementation of procedures and systems for plant personnel to maintain facility in safe, efficient and cost-effective manner
- Lead by example in all GE initiatives including EHS, HR, Quality, FLIGHT DECK, and maintenance management
- Train, supervise and manage employees’ activities and resources for maintenance and repair of all equipment following GE practices
- Research and evaluate latest industry trends. Promote, implement, and share best practices in maintenance across all sites in the organization.
- Optimize negotiated supplier relationships thru collaboration with finance, sourcing, and procurement teams. Participate in contract negotiation with suppliers
- Manage supplier performance and costs. This includes preparing KPIs, annual forecasts, expense budget management, ensure services are delivered to meet project scope.
- Responsible for effective scheduling of maintenance associates and contractors. Resolve issues, track work orders and advise on deployment of maintenance and contract personnel
- Assure that all equipment, facilities, and installations conform to General Electric, federal, state, city, and regulatory agencies policies, procedures, and statutes. Including OSHA, EPA, etc.
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities. Ensure proper repair capability is maintained on key equipment and systems
- Lead implementation of preventive maintenance (PM) program to ensure that all facilities, building systems, and equipment are maintained and serviced according to industry standards and original equipment manufacturer requirements
- Lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy, track data trends, and execute improvement actions. Develop TPM implementation strategy with Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) to improve Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). This includes maintaining strategic inventory of maintenance material to support equipment
- Responsible for maintenance vehicle fleet and fuel consumption compliance Includes certifying staff for use of certain vehicles
- Participate in compliant asset management and disposition
- Promote customer satisfaction and develop positive customer relationships
- Act as safety ambassador to promote a strong safety culture. This includes leading and participating in safety education for site and providing training to maintenance team members
- Monitor the compliance of safe work practices and continuously improve.
- Create a positive working environment for all associates, support continuous improvement, employee engagement, problem solving, professional development of staff, reinforce policies, procedures, while treating every individual with respect
- Lead the Wilmington GE Aerospace / GE Vernova energy separation
- Activate and coordinate the emergency response team in the event of a natural disaster
- Maintain availability on call 24 hours per day with support from the facility staff
Qualifications/Requirements
Desired Characteristics- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering is preferred
- Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) preferred
- Strong negotiation and business management skills
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities and equipment
- Understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Facilities, EHS, Security, and/or Maintenance leadership experience.
