Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administrations (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus in Kansas City. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing facility produces many intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services, primarily for the NNSA. Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate will work on CREOs configuration and administration aspects related to model-based design and CREOs integration with Windchill.
  • This position will collaborate with other partners to help document the end-to-end data flow, capability development, and deployment of technologies supporting Digital Transformation.
  • Acts as the advocate and voice of internal and design agency designer groups, ensuring best practices are considered in Digital Transformation initiatives, especially concerning CREO configurations.
  • Provides expertise and counsel in engineering definition requirements related to electronic drawing definition, supporting procedures, computer-aided design, and computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Interacts with design agencies, suppliers, and internal organizations to keep CREO configurations in sync.
  • Consult with the engineering shop, inspection, and manufacturing personnel to verify the reliability of design strategies.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements to increase technical productivity and effectiveness within the organization.
  • Conducts assigned research or development and works on complex/difficult projects/tasks.
  • Serves as a technical advisor to other designers.
  • Work is typically a critical part of a team effort and requires independence.

You Must Have:

  • U.S. Citizenship to obtain US Department of Energy "Q" level security clearance.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited Engineering program or bachelor of science degree in Physics from an accredited program.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.

We Value:

  • 1+ years experience as a CAD Administrator, CREO preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes that can affect the design or modify design intent.
  • Demonstrated experience with Model Based Definition within CAD software (CREO, Solidworks), CREO preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Part-Centric PDM system (Windchill, Solidworks PDM, etc.) Windchill preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer-aided design tools, advanced design skills, thorough knowledge of procedures and products acquired through technical training and/or a BST or BS degree in an appropriate field or equivalent training and experience
  • Ability to evaluate and improve methods/ processes, recognize alternative project possibilities, and recommend the best choice(s).
  • Demonstrates the ability to implement new technology and ideas at the project level and implement the best design.
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to complete projects when adverse situations arise successfully.
  • Ability to use standard mathematical models, as applicable, to predict test results.
  • Ability to understand the scope of technical problems and develop solutions with little or no guidance from others.
