Aircraft Structural Assembler C

Location: North Charleston, SC
Shift: Must be available to work all shifts based on business needs

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Structural Assembler C to perform complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and the ability to work with advanced materials and tools in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex structural assembly operations using manual and automated tools.
• Set up and validate jigs, fixtures, and tooling for assembly processes.
• Execute close-tolerance drilling and installations in critical aircraft structural areas.
• Utilize calibrated precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Install and remove various fasteners using specialized tools and techniques.
• Work with composite (CFRP), aluminum, and titanium materials for drilling, sanding, trimming, and shimming.
• Follow detailed work instructions and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
• Maintain adherence to safety standards, including handling high-hazard chemicals.

Required Qualifications

• Experience:

  • 7+ years using software applications (internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, and/or specialized applications).
  • 7+ years interpreting blueprints and following detailed work instructions in English.
  • 7+ years in advanced manufacturing, technical, or mechanical fields using hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
  • 7+ years in structural parts fabrication and assembly processes.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with structural assembly tools (Hi-speed/Lo-speed drills, pneumatic/electric drills, nut runner, Quackenbush).
  • Ability to perform precision drilling and installations in critical areas.
  • Skilled in working with CFRP, aluminum, and titanium materials.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, twisting, standing, walking, climbing, crawling, and crouching.
• Lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
• Comfortable working with high-hazard chemicals.
