Summary:
Assembles, installs, seals, rigs, inspects, and completes precision structural and system components working from drawings, documents, process specifications, and quality control requirements.
Functional tests and corrects fit, form and function of assemblies and components.
Obtains required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, and verbal or electronic information.
Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring or test instruments to complete work assignments and functional test assemblies and components.
Utilizes tooling in assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.
Verifies work performed meets process or engineering specifications and identifies discrepancies per applicable procedure.
Ensures equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
Performs routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily work duties (replacing filters, changing light bulbs, maintaining lubrication or coolant levels for Total Preventative Maintenance).
Sets up and operates conventional or Computerized Numerical Controlled (CNC) and fastening equipment of less than simultaneous 3-axis movement (e.g., Drive Matic processes).
Applies specialty skills including Assembly or Installation of Structures, Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, and Pressure and Vacuum testing.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Ability to assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect precision structural and system components on 787, 737, 777, and defense platforms.
Ability to read prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, and process specifications.
Proficiency in shop mathematics and use of precision measuring or test instruments.
Experience with tooling for assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.
Ability to perform functional testing and correct fit, form and function.
Ability to verify work per engineering specifications and identify discrepancies.
Ability to perform routine minor machine maintenance (filters, bulbs, lubrication, coolant).
Ability to set up and operate conventional or CNC fastening equipment.
