Job Title: Structures Mechanic

Job Description

Join a high-performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul team as a Structures Mechanic working on CRJ 700, CRJ 900, and Embraer 145 aircraft. In this role, you perform heavy maintenance checks, structural repairs, and interior modifications, contributing directly to safe, reliable, and passenger-focused regional aircraft operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural maintenance and repair on CRJ 700, CRJ 900, and Embraer 145 aircraft in accordance with approved data and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out heavy maintenance (C and D checks) on regional jets, ensuring all structural work meets safety, quality, and airworthiness standards.
  • Execute interior modifications on CRJ 700 aircraft, including reconfiguring cabins from 70 seats to 50 seats by reducing economy class and expanding first and business class seating.
  • Conduct maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities on CRJ 900 aircraft, including inspection, repair, and replacement of structural components.
  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical data provided on tablets, ensuring accurate and precise completion of tasks.
  • Use sheet metal techniques to fabricate, repair, and install structural components, including drilling, riveting, and fitting parts to tight tolerances.
  • Document all work performed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements, ensuring complete and accurate maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics, technicians, and inspectors to troubleshoot structural issues and support efficient aircraft turnaround.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines while performing maintenance in hangar and line maintenance environments.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively, including power tools and hand tools used for structural and sheet metal work.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, safety, and efficiency.
  • Work flexible schedules, including various shifts and overtime, to meet operational and maintenance demands.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Structures Mechanic, preferably in an MRO environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with heavy maintenance C and D checks on regional jets or similar aircraft.
  • Hands-on experience with CRJ aircraft (such as CRJ 700 and CRJ 900) and Embraer 145 is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in sheet metal work, including drilling, riveting, forming, and repairing aircraft structures.
  • Experience working under Part 121 operations and/or in an MRO setting is preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from aircraft blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to operate a tablet to access and navigate digital blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Airframe license required.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structural repair practices and standards.
  • Ability to work any day and shift as required by operational needs.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all maintenance activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an MRO facility performing structural repairs and heavy maintenance on regional jets.
  • Mechanics with Part 121 experience and/or MRO experience are preferred.
  • Candidates with relevant assembly experience from aerospace manufacturing environments (for example, large aerospace structures manufacturers) may be considered.
  • Ability to work effectively in a non-climate-controlled hangar and on the line as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex technical instructions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
  • Willingness to work 4x10 or 3x12 schedules and to take advantage of voluntary overtime opportunities.

Work Environment

You work in a non-climate-controlled hangar and perform line maintenance as needed, supporting live operations in a dynamic environment. The schedule options include 4x10-hour or 3x12-hour shifts, providing flexibility in how you structure your workweek. Overtime is voluntary and effectively unlimited, with strong emphasis on maintaining safety and quality standards. All blueprints and drawings are accessed on tablets, so you regularly use digital tools to read technical data and complete work instructions. Uniforms are provided through a uniform allowance, and you work with a wide range of hand and power tools suitable for structural and sheet metal maintenance on regional aircraft.
