Position: Structures Mechanic
Contract Type: 6+ Month Contract to Hire
Location: Ventura, CA
Compensation: up to $44 an hour (based on experience)
Company Overview: The Structures Mechanic performs inspection, maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structural assemblies in support of hot section and regional MRO operations. This position focuses on metallic structures and aircraft sheet metal repairs to ensure continued airworthiness and compliance with approved data.
Job Description:
- Perform structural repairs and modifications on aircraft and components including skins, frames, stringers, ribs, doublers, and brackets
- Remove and install structural components using solid rivets, blind fasteners, Hi‑Loks, bolts, and screws
- Drill, ream, countersink, deburr, and cold work close-tolerance holes
- Fabricate and install sheet metal parts in accordance with approved drawings and repair data
- Conduct damage assessments and corrosion inspections on aircraft structures
- Perform structural repairs in accordance with SRMs, AMMs, engineering orders, and FAA regulations
- Apply sealants, corrosion protection, and surface treatments as required
- Use precision measuring tools to verify tolerances and ensure quality workmanship
- Properly document all maintenance actions in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and inspection teams to resolve discrepancies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2–3 years of aircraft structures or sheet metal experience in an MRO or heavy maintenance environment
- Ability to read and understand aircraft technical documentation
- Experience working in an FAA-regulated environment preferred
Work Environment:
- Part 145 MRO
- Monday – Friday
- 7am – 4:30pm
Additional Information:
- Prior Part 145 MRO experience
- Experience on regional aircraft, nacelles, or engine‑adjacent structures
- FAA Airframe license a plus but not required

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
