Job Description
As a Structures Technician, you will perform large-scale structural modifications and conversions on regional aircraft within a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility. Your role will involve precise drilling, reaming, removal, and installation in critical support structures and fracture critical areas. You will be responsible for locating blind holes for new structural items and conducting sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structures per standard repair processes. Additionally, you will read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and retrofit requirements to execute structural modifications and repairs efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform large-scale structural modifications and conversions on regional aircraft.
- Conduct close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures.
- Locate blind holes necessary for the installation of new structural items to existing structures.
- Seal, paint, shim, and preserve structures following standard repair processes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications.
- Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts.
- Apply professional technical expertise to solve complex problems using technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers manuals.
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and assess functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
Essential Skills
- S License is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide own tools.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance, repair, and structural modification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the field is an asset.
- Knowledge of line maintenance and airframe troubleshooting.

Work Environment
This ongoing contract position is located at the Lake Simcoe location. Work involves using computer systems for accessing work instructions, drawings, and training. The role requires the ability to interpret complex technical data and solve challenging problems.
