Job Title: Structures Technician
Job Description
As a Structures Technician, you will be responsible for performing heavy depot-level structural maintenance, repairs, and modifications on T-38 aircraft, specifically focusing on aircraft skin and bulkhead upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess damage to aircraft structural components and formulate appropriate repair or replacement procedures using applicable technical data.
- Remove and install close tolerance, high-strength fasteners in major aircraft structural components.
- Design structural repairs, modifications, and corrosion protection treatments, maintaining original strength, weight, and contour for structural integrity.
- Perform post-repair flight control weight and balance functions, as well as control surface rigging according to designated technical orders.
- Inspect components and repairs for structural serviceability according to specifications and technical publications.
- Manufacture and use jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds to fabricate repair or replacement parts.
- Utilize advanced metalworking practices, equipment, and tools to form, cut, bend, and fasten replacement or repair parts to damaged structures and components.
- Train others in shop drawing and depot-level metal layout techniques; shop mathematics; corrosion identification, removal, repair, and prevention; cleaning of metals; application of protective coatings, and markings.
- Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
- Use automated maintenance systems to input, validate, and analyze data.
- Inspect, clear, and close out completed maintenance discrepancies in automated maintenance systems.
- Document maintenance according to Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirements.
- Store, handle, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials following environmental standards and company processes.
- Operate and maintain related aircraft Support Equipment (SE).
- Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
- Maintain strict tool control procedures, reporting missing, lost, found, or unattended tools, and inventorying and inspecting tools regularly to replace worn or broken tools.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in airframe and aircraft sheet metal repair.
- Experience in heavy depot level repairs or modifications.
- Ability to perform skin repairs, skin patches, and skin changes.
- Knowledge of bulkhead repairs and depot-level maintenance.
- Expertise in corrosion control and MRO procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Level III: 8-12 years performing depot level/MRO level structural repairs or modifications.
- Level II: 5-8 years performing depot level/MRO level structural repairs or modifications.
- Fighter jet experience preferred but not required.
- Air Force Specialty Code 2A753/2A773 is nice to have but not required.

Work Environment
Work in an aircraft hangar during the day shift, Monday to Friday, from 06:30 to 15:30.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75316.00 - $79227.00/yr.
