Structures Technician – Advanced Airframe AssemblyLocation: Tempe, Arizona
Pay: $30–$37/hr
Per Diem: Available for qualified non‑local candidates
Contract: 6‑Month Contract (extension or conversion possible, not guaranteed)

As a Structures Technician, you’ll work hands‑on with next‑generation aircraft and spaceflight technologies—assembling complex airframe structures, precision components, and cutting‑edge composite parts. What You’ll DoYour work will directly support the build of advanced aerospace structures through tasks such as:
- Assembling composite and metallic structural components of varying complexity
- Setting up and aligning assembly fixtures with precision
- Operating drills, die grinders, calipers, countersinks, and other shop tools
- Drilling high‑accuracy holes in composites and metals—including multi‑layer stack‑ups
- Installing aerospace fasteners such as Hi‑Lite, Hi‑Lok, Composi‑Lok, and more
- Performing trimming, fitting, fay sealing, and structural fastening processes
- Assisting in repair evaluations, technical problem‑solving, and process improvements
- Supporting root‑cause analysis for defects or deviations
- Ensuring all work meets engineering, safety, and quality assurance requirements
- Following detailed build instructions, engineering drawings, and digital work orders
- Maintaining strict FOD prevention, housekeeping, and safety compliance
- Working closely with engineers, inspectors, and other aerospace technicians
What You BringYou’ll be successful in this role if you have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of hands‑on aircraft fabrication or structural assembly experience
- Strong in manual, precision-driven mechanical assembly
- Proficiency using aircraft tools, power tools, and measurement devices
- Ability to recognize and correctly install common aerospace fasteners
- Confidence reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and digital 3D models
Preferred Skills- Knowledge of proper drilling practices, speeds/feeds, and material‑specific techniques
- Understanding of hole tolerance, precision fit, and structural joining standards
- Experience working with composites, metals, and mixed‑material assemblies
- Interest in learning emerging spacecraft manufacturing processes
- A&P certification or training (highly desirable)
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
- Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and quality control
